Reading:
We are continuing a new unit in Lead 21 about science and how it helps us have
fun! We are learning about force, energy and technology. We are also working on summarizing, idioms,
and cause & effect.
Writer’s Workshop: This week we will continue working
through our Candy Bar Story. We will finish drafting and begin revising.
Math:
We will finish up our unit on place value this week and begin a new unit on
measuring area. The students will learn how to count squares inside a shape to
find the area.
Science:
This week we will continue our unit on Force and Motion. The students will
learn about simple machines, work, and rules of motion.
Important Dates:
Friday 10/19-
Flat Stanley Field Trip (8:45am-Noon).
*Report Cards go home!
Important Information
Later in the
spring we will have 3rd Grade Regions Day! This will be very similar
to 2nd grade Kansas City Day where the students will rotate
throughout stations. If you are
