*Parents: Please remember to sign your student's planner each night. Your signature verifies that they have studied their spelling words, practiced math facts, and read for 20 minutes. This is an important part of 3rd grade and I appreciate you partnering with me on this. Also, Powerdrills are due EVERY THURSDAY and Study Island is due EVERY FRIDAY.
Reading:
We are starting Unit 3 in Lead 21. We are studying the question “How does
geography affect a community?” We are also working on the skills: ask &
answer questions, multiple meaning words, and consonant patterns.
Math:
We are still in Unit 7 and this week we are continuing to work on using
patterns in data tables and graphs to solve problems. We will also work on
multiplication problem solving strategies.
Social Studies: This week we will continue our tour of the northeast
region. We will visit Boston, the Erie Canal, and Hershey Pennsylvania! The
students will learn how an assembly line was created at the Hershey factory and
even make one of their own.

Later in the
spring we will have 3rd Grade Regions Day! This will be very similar
to 2nd grade Kansas City Day where the students will rotate
