Reading:
This week we are continuing to read Owl Moon during reading. We are learning
about descriptive language, making predictions, and text structure. We will
also learn about similes. We will NOT have a spelling test this Friday.
Writer’s Workshop: This week we are working on a paragraph
about an animal we would like to learn more about. We are going to model
descriptive writing.
Math:
This week we will work on Addition with Base Ten and Subtraction with Base Ten.
We will also work on the value of money under $50.
Social Studies: We are learning so much about Washington D.C.! Each
student is researching an important landmark from the Lincoln Memorial to the
National Zoo. We will also have a chance to vote tomorrow in the All School
Presidential Election!

Later in the
spring we will have 3rd Grade Regions Day! This will be very similar
to 2nd grade Kansas City Day where the students will rotate
