We want to start the new year off right! Remember to check your student's planner each night, study math facts, and read for 20 minutes. Also, each week Powerdrills are due on Thursday. On Fridays, Study Island is due and we will also have our spelling test in class.
January
7-11
Reading:
We are beginning Unit 4 in our Lead 21 curriculum. This week we are studying
about what is beneath Earth’s surface. We are also working on contractions,
dictionary skills, and making connections while reading.
Writer’s Workshop: This week the students are working on
responding to what they have read in writing.
Math:
We are beginning Unit 9 this week! We are learning about finding the mass of
different objects and also working on our graphing skills.
Science:
In science this week we are beginning our unit on Healthy Lifestyles. This week
your student will rotate through each 3rd grade classroom. They will
learn about healthy eating choice, the food pyramid, and exercise.
