Reading:
We are continuing Unit 3 in Lead 21. We are studying the question “How does
geography affect a community?” We are also working on the skills: monitor
comprehension, sequencing, and homophones.
Writer’s Workshop: This week we are continuing our Holiday
Tradition story. The students will write about a tradition that they do each
year around the holiday time. All parents are invited to hear the students read
their stories at our Holiday Tradition Party, December 19th at 1pm.
Math:
We are finishing up Unit 7 this week and moving on to Unit 8. We will be
working on coordinates this week. We will learn how to plot them on graphs and
locate objects using a coordinate system.
Social Studies: Our tour of the Midwest Region is well underway. The
students have been to several interesting cities including St. Louis. We will
continue the tour this week. The States and Capitals test will be FRIDAY
DECEMBER 14TH.
