Weekly News

January 16-20
Reading: This week we are reading The Mysterious Giant of Barletta. We are working on the skills following directions, main idea and retelling.

Writer’s Workshop: We are working writing directions. This week we will begin writing “How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich.”

Math: We are working on Unit 7 “Exploring Multiplication and Division” this week. We will work on money math, patterns and also perimeter.

Science: We are back on science this week with a unit on technology and design. Students will think about how objects are designed for specific uses. We will also have a special assembly on Friday all about Rainforest Animals.

BIST Tip: I did it!
It takes a lot of responsibility for a child to admit they have played a part in making bad choices that are either hurtful or disruptive. The child is given as much time as needed until they are ready to talk about what happened. The child must be genuine when accepting ownership of a problem.

** Our class has been doing a GREAT job collecting money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. So far we are up to $81.00! Thank you so much for supporting your student and for supporting the Ronald McDonald House.
